Ceramic plate decorated by Lucienne Day for her Royal College of Art Diploma Show, 1940
The sgraffito patterns on this plate, decorated for her Diploma Show, are similar to the motifs on her textiles. These early pieces prefigure Lucienne’s mature tableware designs for the German porcelain manufacturer Rosenthal.
