Reclining chair, Robin Day, 1952

This easy chair demonstrates how rapidly Robin matured as a designer. Its slim profile arises from the use of rubber webbing instead of metal springs. Its clearly articulated structure – the way the legs attach to the seat and the tray-like wooden armrests - is a hallmark of the Robin Day style.
