The Alternative Flooring Company Ltd, sister company to Wilton Carpets, has just launched the first 'Authentic Lucienne' carpet runners. 'Octagon' and 'Squares and Diamonds', two of Lucienne Day's 1964 designs for Wilton Royal, are available to order in one vibrant colourway each. The full 'Authentic Lucienne' range will launch in 2018.

Lucienne Day's silk mosaic 'Memory Game', held in the collection of the Honourable Company of Furniture Makers, has just been re-hung at Furniture Makers' Hall, 12 Austin Friars, in the heart of the City of London, where it may be viewed by appointment. A composite design made up of several smaller panels joined together, this is one of the very few pieces which is not rectangular in outline.

A Lucienne Day event for the Victoria and Albert Museum Director's Circle was held at the V&A textile archives at Clothworkers' Centre, Blythe House, London on December 5th. Paula Day spoke about her mother's life and work. Archivist Christopher Marsden and textile curator Victoria Bradley then introduced a display of Lucienne Day's original artwork, textiles, carpets and silk mosaics held in the V&A archives.

We are delighted to announce a new collaboration with Alternative Flooring, sister company to Wilton Carpets. On !st December Paula Day joined a press tour to witness the first-ever reissue of Lucienne Day's 1964 'Squares and Diamonds' design for Wilton Royal rolling off a 1960s loom in the factory in which it had originally been made.

The Arts University Bournemouth exhibition Lucienne Day: Living Design is to continue touring to venues across the country throughout 2018. Dates have so far been announced for The Oxfordshire Museum, Woodstock (January 13th - March 4th) and New Brewery Arts, Cirencester (March 17th - May 20th).

Last night's panel discussion of the Arts University Bournemouth exhibition Lucienne Day: Living Design at Manchester School of Art was attended by a lively audience of design professionals and students. The event took place in the Benzie Building lecture theatre adjoining a magnificent display of four-metre lengths of Classic Textiles' digital reprints of Lucienne Day textile designs.

The exhibition Pioneers of Postwar Pattern opened on Friday night at the Reid Building, Glasgow School of Art. A Lucienne Day Tangram silk mosaic which we donated to the School is on display, along with Classic Textiles' digital reprints of her Graphica and Flotilla furnishing fabrics.

Paula Day presented an illustrated talk to an enthusiastic and knowledgeable capacity audience at the Fashion and Textile Museum, London last Thursday. She focused on her mother's little-known designs for dress fabrics and her personal fashion style, before going on to describe highlights of the Lucienne Day centenary year so far.

John Lewis has launched a second Lucienne Day cushion range. The cushions are made up of Lucienne Day at Classic Textiles linen/cotton mix fabrics, with black cotton backing. New colour ways of Calyx, Flotilla and Magnetic have been introduced, together with Lucienne Day's minimalist geometric design Graphica. They join cushions from the first range, including Dandelion Clocks, to provide a choice of eight different designs.

A Lucienne Day silk mosaic which for thirty years had hung in the hallway of the designer's own home has now been put on public display for the first time. The Castle and Other Stories (1979) was donated by her Executors to Royal Designers for Industry, based at the Royal Society of Arts, John Adam Street, London, where it may be viewed from 8.30am to 8pm, Monday to Friday. In 1987 Lucienne Day was appointed the first-ever woman Master of Royal Designers for Industry.

Arts University Bournemouth Textiles graduate Aimee Hartley was presented at Graduation with the University's special Lucienne Day centenary prize by Professor Sir Christopher Frayling, Chancellor of the University and Patron of the Foundation. The AUB exhibition Lucienne Day: Living Design, which opened at the University on January 12th, is now on tour to other venues across the country.

The exhibition Lucienne Day: A Sense of Growth at The Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester will close this coming Sunday July 16th. The exhibition highlights Lucienne Day's love of plants and gardening, and showcases plant-inspired designs from the Whitworth's extensive collection of original Lucienne Day textiles. Curated by Dr Jennifer Harris, who has received our Centenary Award for Lifetime Contribution to Lucienne Day Studies, the exhibition was created in collaboration with the Whitworth's GROW project which promotes the benefits of horticulture for mental wellbeing. Lucienne Day: A Sense of Growth has been widely publicised in national press and on BBC Radio 4.

A new exhibition opens at the Museum of Carpet, Kidderminster next Saturday July 1st. This example shows artwork for one colourway of Tesserae, which won a Design Centre Award in 1957.

Day for Flowers exhibition launched at London design retailer twentytwentyone's River Street, London showroom on Tuesday evening. Guests enjoyed a drink in the cool courtyard and admired the displays created by ten individuals from a variety of design backgrounds using the new Lucienne Day flower bricks. The exhibition is open till this Saturday 24th.

London design retailer is celebrating Lucienne Day's centenary with Day for Flowers, an exhibition of floral displays created by ten distinguished individuals from the design world using a Lucienne Day flower brick. The exhibition will run at twentytwentyone's River Street showroom from Wednesday June 21st to Saturday June 24th. A celebratory Limited Edition of one hundred bricks will be available for sale at the event.

Jennifer curated the first-ever Lucienne Day Retrospective at the Whitworth Art Gallery in 1993, and is also curator of the current exhibition Lucienne Day: A Sense of Growth.

Lucienne Day: A Sense of Growth launched last night in the Collections Centre overlooking the Art Garden at Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester. Curator Jennifer Harris and Lucienne Day's daughter Paula Day spoke about the exhibition and the designer's love of plants. Cultural Park Keeper Francine Hafron thanked the GROW project participants who had co-curated the exhibition. The evening concluded with a demonstration of floral art by Craig Bullock, inspired by Lucienne Day's textile design Silver Birch.

The Whitworth Art Gallery has launched a range of greetings cards, postcards and mini prints with images of some of the Lucienne Day plant-inspired textiles held in the Gallery's extensive Lucienne Day archive. This new range celebrates Lucienne Day's centenary and the exhibition Lucienne Day: A Sense of Growth opening at the Whitworth on April 14th this year. A new exhibition Lucienne Day: A Sense of Growth will launch at the Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester on Thursday April 13th, 6pm - 8pm. Curator Jennifer Harris will open the exhibition in the Collections Centre, which looks out over the Art Garden. At 7pm floral designer Craig Bullock will present a Contemporary Floral Art: Art Alive event, creating a 3D floral sculpture in response to the Lucienne Day plant-inspired textile designs in the exhibition.

This moving and informative full-length documentary made in 2010 by US nonprofit foundation Design Onscreen includes archival photographs and interviews with family, friends and design experts.

The exhibition about the Days' work as Design Consultants to the John Lewis Partnership has now been extended to the summer. An exclusive new range of six cushions created from Lucienne Day at Classic Textiles fabrics has now launched online at John Lewis. They feature 1950s designs Calyx, Flotilla, Dandelion Clocks, Lapis, Spectators and Magnetic. The Flotilla and Magnetic cushions have been produced in a limited edition of only 100 units each.

On January 29th the Foundation hosted the Design Museum #FontSunday on Twitter. Nine images of Lucienne Day designs based on lettering were posted online, and thousands of participants sent in images. The Lucienne Day #FontSunday was trending on Twitter for much of the afternoon.

The Lucienne Day centenary celebrations were symbolically launched yesterday when Paula Day lit a single candle on her mother's '100th birthday' cake at a tea party event organised by Alys Bryan in the restaurant of Pallant House Gallery, Chichester. From 1999 onwards Robin and Lucienne Day made Chichester their home and often visited the Gallery.

Our Lucienne Day centenary celebrations launched this morning on what would have been the designer’s 100th birthday.
Venues across the country displayed the Lucienne Day 100 logo, designed by Studio Fernando Gutiérrez and based on a motif from her most famous textile Calyx.
